Busy Weekend

Well, we got back last night from a weekend at home in western NC. David also had a job interview in SC yesterday. So, we have basically been in the car a whole lot! The kids did great, until the ride home. Which was when David was stressed the most after his flop of an interview. He thought he was interviewing for a full time position (it said full time on the website) After we got all the way down there, he was told it was part time and no benefits. Needless to say, he was not a happy bear! Then on the way home, the kids were a little more giggly and rambunctious than usual. We had to ask them to keep it down like 5 times!

Anyway, I reminded David that we prayed for God to open the door He wants us to walk through, and close the ones He doesn't want us to walk through...and that was closing the door for that particular job.

The children got invited to a VBS at a local church. They left out about 9 AM. I'm doing laundry and catching up here...getting ready to begin packing for our family beach trip. We are so looking forward to a relaxing time at the beach! Well my washing machine just cut off. So, I'd better get my clothes on the line!

Have a blessed day!

Eating for Blood Type O

I've recently learned about another way of diet that I believe God led me to. It is taken from a book called, "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type. I'm going to get the book this weekend. In the meantime I found a webpage that had a lot of good informations. Here is the one for Blood Type O. It does not matter if you are O+ or O-. They only go by the letter. : )

Enjoy!

Eating for Blood Type O

Type Os thrive on intense physical exercise and animal protein. Unlike the other blood types, Type Os muscle tissue should be slightly on the acid side. Type Os can efficiently digest and metabolize meat because they tend to have high stomach-acid content. The success of the Type O Diet depends on the use of lean, chemical-free meats, poultry, and fish. Type Os don't find dairy products and grains quite as user friendly as do most of the other blood types.

The initial weight loss on the Type O Diet is by restricting consumption of grains, breads, legumes, and beans. The leading factor in weight gain for Type Os is the gluten found in wheat germ and whole wheat products, which interferes with insulin efficiency and slow down metabolic rate. Another factor that contribute to weight gain is certain beans and legumes (lentils and kidney beans) contain lectins that deposit in the muscle tissues making them less "charged" for physical activity. The third factor in Type O weight gain is that Type Os have a tendency to have low levels of thyroid hormone or unstable thyroid functions, which also cause metabolic problems. Therefore it is good to avoid food that inhibits thyroid hormone (cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mustard green) but increase hormone production (kelp, seafood, iodized salt).

Several classes of vegetables can cause big problems for Type Os, such as the Brassica family (cabbage, cauliflower, etc.) can inhibit the thyroid function. Eat more vegetables that are high in Vitamin K, which helps the clotting factor which is weak in Type Os. The nightshade vegetables can cause lectin deposit in the tissue surrounding the joints.

Because of the high acidity stomach, Type Os should eat fruits of alkaline nature such as berries (with a few exceptions) and plums..

Type Os should severely restrict the use of dairy products. Their system is not designed for the proper metabolism. If you are a Type O of African ancestry, you should eliminate dairy foods and eggs altogether.

Characteristics of
Type O
Best on High Protein Diet

These vegetables help blood clot, Type Os lack several clotting fractors and need vitamin K to assist in the process. Type o should eat plenty of Kale, collard greens, romaine lettuce, broccoli, spinach

These vegetables irritate the digestive tract and the high mold count can aggravate Type O hypersensitivity problems.
Avoid Alfalfa sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, fermented olives

These vegetables can cause arthritic conditions in Type Os

Health Conscious! YOU on a Diet

God is convicting my heart of how much junk I put into my body. I've been reading a book that has been such an eye opener. It is titled, "YOU, on a Diet". Don't be mistaken by the title...it is an amazing book about creating life changes with eating, and understanding why it is so imperative to eat healthy. He explains what the insides of our bodies are doing (in layman terms) with great illustrations that really get you thinking about it. He has 20 min exercises where he suggests that our bodies are our complete gyms! So we can do everything we need to strengthen our bodies WITHOUT having to go to a gym to do it. Of course, he is not against doing this, but it helps for those who are getting started, like me, who do not want to put on gym cloths in front of others just yet! I highly recommend this book. I found it at Wal-Mart, but I am sure any bookstore would have it. Or you can order it through Amazon.

By the way, the blog I posted about microwaves, snoopes says it is an urband legend. Yet, we have seen things on the news recently about how the harmful chemicals in certain #7 plastics can seep into our foods. It also makes me wonder, if a microwave affects a pacemaker, what is it doing to our environment. I haven't ditched ours yet, but I can say that we are trying to use it less. : ) Follow your own convictions about it.

Have a blessed day!

Is There A Killer in Your Microwave?
Current mood: worried
Category: and slightly irritated Life

Those of you that know me, know that I have posted a few news items.. Some have been tounge in cheek items, true but the ODD news bit. This one is not like that.

I put this out also as a bulletin, but felt the need to also blog it. Please read! Your comments, pro and con are very welcome!! I am not looking for the kudos, but more to start a discussion on health related things we have all read.

Cancer News From Johns Hopkins

My wife went through breast cancer in April two years ago.
This is the same thing her oncologist told her. It is a good summary, so I will pass it on.

Cancer update -- Johns Hopkins -- Cancer News from Johns Hopkins:

1. No plastic containers in microwave.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters.

This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army

Medical Center as well.
Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.

Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.
He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.
Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin.
So such things as frozen dinners, instant ramen noodles and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper.

It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.
Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over! foods to be cooked in the microwave.
As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.
Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life!

Natural News

Microwaves are a feature in nearly every American home. Yet their dangers are well documented.

You can do your own home experiment to understand the hazards of microwaving. Plant seeds in two pots. Water one pot with microwaved water and the other pot with regular tap water. The seeds that received microwaved water won't sprout. If microwaved water can stop plants from growing, then imagine what microwaved food is doing to your body.

A Swiss study led by biologist and food scientist Dr. Hans Hertel identified the effects of microwaved food. For eight weeks, eight people lived in a controlled environment and intermittently ate raw foods, conventionally cooked foods and microwaved foods. Blood samples were tested after each meal. The microwaved food caused significant changes in blood chemistry.

Another study at Stanford University investigated the effects of microwaving breast milk. One of the head scientists said "Microwaving human milk, even at a low setting, can destroy some of its important disease-fighting capabilities." They claimed that besides heating, there were many other disturbing alterations in the milk

In early 1991, a lawsuit was filed against an Oklahoma hospital after a patient died from receiving blood that was heated in a microwave oven.

In Russia, microwave ovens were banned in 1976 because of their negative effect on health and wellbeing.

* Eating food processed from a microwave oven causes permanent brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain.

* Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.

* Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit.

* The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free-radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

* Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous tumors.

* The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.

* Continual ingestion of microwaved food lowers the immune system.

* Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

* Microwaving alters elemental food-substances, causing digestive disorders.

* Microwaved foods lose 60 to 90 percent of the vital-energy field and microwaving accelerates the structural disintegration of foods.

* Microwaved foods lower the body's ability to utilize B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics.

The bottom line is that microwaves cause cancer and other diseases. They destroy the goodness in our food and weaken our bodies.

Ultimately, we should all be thinking about permanently getting rid of them.
